Historic Squares

Savannah has America’s largest historic district in the country which includes 23 romantic parks (squares) that are beautifully landscaped with azaleas and magnificent live oak trees draped with Spanish moss. Many of these enchanting squares have wrought iron gates, fountains or historic monuments. Each square is unique and has its own special appeal and charm. It has been said that the history of the squares is the history of Savannah. The squares make a lovely setting for a wedding, surrounded by Victorian homes and other historic buildings. Forsyth Park and Fountain

Savannah’s Forsyth Park and Fountain is the epitome of Southern sophistication and style. Georgia’s “First City” is the definition of Southern elegance and charm. Davenport House Garden

The Davenport House Garden was created in 1976 by the Trustees Garden Club. Built in the traditional, formal English style, it is surrounded by a brick privacy wall and decorative wrought iron gates. The garden accommodates up to 100 guests, has a parking area and restrooms. Couples exchange their vows beneath a lovely jasmine covered archway. The Davenport House Garden is the ideal location for an elegant garden wedding. (available 7 days a week after 4:30 p.m.)

Savannah Botanical Gardens

Savannah’s Botanical Gardens framed in roses, flowers and exotic plants is the ideal location for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony. Established in 1997, this ten acre site holds an exquisite flower garden, a completely restored 1800’s farmhouse, rose garden, gazebo overlooking a pond, nature trail and more. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with many native plants. The building has restrooms, a bride’s dressing room, and there is free parking. The gardens provide endless wedding photo opportunities.

Bethesda’s Whitefield Chapel

Bethesda's Whitefield ChapelOne of the most popular wedding venues in Savannah, Bethesda’s Whitefield Chapel is an ideal place to say, “I do.” This historic chapel, named for Rev. George Whitefield who founded it in 1740, has hosted weddings for superstar Paula Deen, actress Mandy Moore, and country singer Joe Nichols. The chapel is nestled under moss covered Live Oak trees which enhance Bethesda’s scenic grounds. It features the original wooden pews, chandeliers, brick floor and gated altar with stained glass window. In addition to the chapel, there is an amphitheater on the grounds should a couple prefer an outdoor venue with a lovely view of the marsh lined with majestic Oak trees.

Tybee Island Beach

The Tybee Island Beach is the ultimate setting for couples looking for the perfect Coastal seaside wedding ceremony. The beautiful sand, surf and dunes covered with sea-oats sets the ideal coastal atmosphere for your wedding. This small barrier island boasts a wide 3 mile long beach, enormous pavilion on the beach, and amazing sunrises. The North Beach has the spectacular Tybee Island Lighthouse. Open to the public, it is one of the very few operational lighthouses remaining in the country. It makes an excellent backdrop for wedding photos!

Isle of Hope Marina

Isle of Hope Marina is an ideal venue for your Savannah wedding.  It is located on an island that is rich in history and provides beautiful backdrops for your photos.  The marina is covered, has ceiling fans, a dock with walkway to the water, parking lot, restrooms and some lighting.  You can visit nearby Wormsloe Historic Site.  Bluff Drive, located along the shore of the marina is one of Savannah’s most picturesque streets.  It boasts its magnificent live oak trees and views of the Intracoastal Waterway on one side and lovely antebellum homes on the other.  The perfect venue for gorgeous photos!  The island’s beauty and history has attracted many Hollywood film productions, including Glory, the original Cape Fear, The Last of the Belles, Forrest Gump, and The Last Song.

Private Gazebo

We invite you to exchange your wedding vows in the beautiful setting of Savannah’s historic Beaulieu Plantation District. The Amish custom built wedding gazebo provides the perfect setting for your ceremony and photos. The Victorian Gazebo will accommodate the couple and up to 20 guests where you can experience your dream wedding or renewal of vows. The Gazebo is decorated to create the effect of a charming wedding chapel complete with stained glass. This venue has many beautiful features that make excellent backdrops for your wedding photos: old brick walkways, grape arbor, a pond with small bridges, many camellias, hydrangeas and over 300 colorful azaleas! Access to the Private Garden is included with the Private Gazebo Wedding.

Private Garden at the Gazebo

Experience your intimate ceremony tucked away in a secret garden, under a vintage wrought iron archway beside a lovely fountain completely surrounded by camellias, gardenias and azaleas.  This is offered as an elopement package for the couple only and does not include guests.


Sisters of Mercy Chapel

Sisters of Mercy Chapel is located in Savannah’s famous historic district. The chapel has ornate artisan stained glass and one of a kind murals. Seating for up to 70 guests is included. The chapel was built for the nuns who resided in the convent that was once on this site and it is beautifully restored. This venue is housed in an outstanding Italian restaurant which also has an outdoor private courtyard. Both are available for receptions.
